This
storyboard from 2002 was done entirely in pencil due to time constraints for
Made In Africa Films. The purpose was to show off the Toyota Celica's performance,
simulating a car chase.
The rather odd ending is due to the fact that in spite of the
appearance of a dubious character en route, the car
following them is actually that of the girl's parents.
The driver succeeds in losing them because he's
lost in his own fantasy of a car chase and
enjoying his car's performance.
Turnaround time was 24 hours. I initially sat
with the director and mapped out very
rough scamps of each frame, looked
at pix of the car itself, and then
went away and rendered the
storyboard, delivering it the
next day. Fortunately there
were some pix on the
Toyota website
so it
wasn't a complete
thumbsuck.
