Meet our Shooz!
MANGO: Mentor, playmate, teacher, entertainer – there are many sides to our Mango as he explains the world to the Shooz and the viewer by means of visions that float up form his bowl in a bubble. Once the vision has been discussed, the bubble pops and the show goes on. Sometimes even Mango needs a bit of peace and quiet. Then he retreats to his magic clamshell which also serves as his suitcase of many wonders. He likes to pull the lid down and have a snore as little bubbles drift up. Mango is a benign sage and mentor. He’s also the arbitrator and has the final word.
SID: a keen runner ‘in killer shape’. He lives for running. Nothing keeps him down for long. ‘As long as you think positive’ is Sid’s motto. If one word could sum him up, it’s ‘keen’.
GINA: Aspiring ballerina, Gina is spontaneous and outgoing; she’s the creative improviser but causes crisis after crisis from which the others rescue her time and time again. Gina makes as many enemies as friends – all heart, she doesn’t read people very well. Her wide-eyed honesty gets her into trouble too.
SCHLOFF a strictly indoor type, loves to doze in front of the window, rehashing his memories which he also enjoys recounting. Schloff seldom goes far from the lost property box. He plays the protective comforter in his official capacity as Grampa.
MATHILDA would be unbearable if she wasn’t so transparently and endearingly ignorant. With dreams of becoming a lawyermaker, stockbreaker, philophizzer, photografter or anthroposogist etc, she loves creating drama, using her little knowledge to impress.
GROOMBIE: Gallant hero, he goes at obstacles as if untouchable. In a sense he’s a bodyguard, and he portrays that. Paramilitary and tough, he sometimes falls prey to the sharp end of the outside world himself.
