Posters still have their place and many are works of art now as they were in the time of Toulouse-Lautrec. But now they’re joined of course by animated banners and all manner of other appeals for our attention, to announce, to persuade, to irritate…
Social media, emailed teasers, animated banners, (and sadly SMSs) and so on announce information where the people are. And they’re not always out there in the street. Each medium has its optimum place, timing and use.

This poster was designed for the archeology department at Iziko Museums, Cape Town. Its purpose was not only to announce a forthcoming lecture at a conference but also to give a good amount of background info on the subject itself.
